October Cookbook Giveaway

There were an amazing 92 entries in last month's cookbook giveaway contest. The lucky random winner of "The Goodness of Nuts and Seeds" by John Midgley is ChromiumMan. Congrats and happy nutting!

This month I have a used copy of "Let Herbs Do It" by Virginia Williams Bentley (Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1973), which is a beautifully hand-lettered book of growing advice, history, botanical lore and recipes for 26 different herbs. The recipes sound intriguing...how about whipping up some Coriander Cookies, Baked Summer Squash with Sage, Mustard Sauce or Minted Pears?

As always, entries are made by leaving a comment after this post. Do so by midnight, October 31st (Halloween!) to be eligible to have this book sent to you courtesy of the Crispy Cook. No tricks, just a treat.

Awesome book! It's funny, all my favorite cook books are older than me, I bet this one would be one of my faves!

I really enjoyed this first challenge. Cooking, books and my beloved Sicily.....a combination I could not resist! Looking forward to the new book title.
