April Cookbook Giveaway

Time to announce the winner of last month's cookbook giveaway contest and pick a new cookbook to give away. Last month's book is a gently used copy of Robert Carrier's "Great Casseroles" and the lucky winner is Joie de Vivre, who has a beautifully designed blog about cooking, being a mom to her two adorable sons and a bit about her weight loss goals. Congratulations, Joie de Vivre! I hope you get many tasty dinners out of this book.

For the April cookbook giveaway, I took a gander at the cookbook shelves at our used bookstore, Old Saratoga Books, and thought I would offer up a softcover copy of: The Gradual Vegetarian: The Step-By-Step Way to Start Eating the Right Stuff Today, by Lisa Tracy, NY: Dell, 1986. This is a great book for learning about ways to incorporate more meatless meals into your life for healthier, often more economical dining. Tracy includes over 200 recipes and organizes the book into three stages: one including poultry and fish, one just including fish, and one for a totally vegetarian diet.

For a chance at having this book sent to you compliments of the Crispy Cook, just leave a comment below by the deadline of April 30th, midnight (Eastern Standard Time) after which I will randomly pick a winner. Good luck to everyone!

Yay! I love cookbook giveaways. My hubby and I are trying to eat less meat these days, so we'd definitely put the recipes in here to good use. Again, I am still super jealous that you operate a used book store! :)

I have been gradually working my way to several vegetarian days a week now, so this would be a fun book to have!

I'm a new vegetarian (less than a year) and still trying to work hubby into it. And I'm gluten intolerant. I just found your blog today and it's great! Your mojito cupcakes make me wish it were warm enough to make mojito's, mojito cupcakes and sit out by the pool with my girlfriends.

This would be fantastic for my son. He is a new vegetarian, and I want to be supportive, but I want him to have all the nutrition he needs.
Thanks!
