Gluten-Free Fruit Snacks Review and Giveaway

Betty Crocker recently sent me a couple of their fruit-flavored snacks to sample, and included a fun "Simple Joys" prize package that included some pick-up sticks, a light-up yo-yo and a frisbee. The fruit-flavored snacks are gluten-free, and were a hit with my two daughters, especially the roll-up "tape". I find them too sweet, but kids like the taste and the lurid colors.

As for the toys, the light-up yo-yo was the overall family favorite thing to play with. Martha the dog would have just snacked on the frisbee, so we passed it on to our local charity thrift shop.

For dog owners in a similar situation, we recommend buying a Nylabone frisbee for around $20 at your local pet shop. Martha loves catching it and can't chew off pieces, plus it has a nifty "bone" that sticks out of the top that she can latch onto when she fetches it back to us.

Anyway, I am pleased to say that I can offer a similar "Simple Joys" prize package to one of my Crispy Cook readers (U.S. residents only, though). Just leave a comment after this post telling me about your favorite childhood toy and Martha will assist me in randomly picking a winner from the comments after November 15, 2009.

Good luck to all!

Growing up I loved my chalk board. It may seem like a not so fun toy but I LOVED it! My dolls and stuffed animals got a wonderful education.

Thanks for the recommendation on the nylabone frisbee. My dog would have chewed up the one they gave you too and he's an eight of the size of yours.

What a sweet pooch! My guys are little and don't chase frisbees, but it is good to know about the nylabone.

Slip 'n' Slide was my favorite, but rare. Fave everyday toy was my Etch-a-Sketch. Don't know why I never thought of a nylon frisbee, I must've gone through 15 of them with my puppy.

No need to enter me in the drawing. Just wanted to say that Martha is a cutie! ;-)

My most favorite toy when I was little was the "wacky wall walkers" that came in boxes of cereal. There were 4 of us kids and it was an eternal struggle to get the "prize" out of the cereal box, so when I got the prize, I cherished it until the sticky was no longer sticky and the legs were just little pink nubs. :)

This reminds me of an old song about a marvelous little toy. My favorite toy as a kid was probably my little ewok action figure from star wars, although I had no idea at the time what star wars even was. He was only about an inch tall and I carried him everywhere.
