H...Loved the post, and now I want to read the book! However, what is in your picture is NOT a crumpet. For one thing, crumpets are baked on a griddle or in a frying pan, not in the oven. They are made from a fairly thin yeast batter that bubbles up as it cooks, creating wonderful nooks and crannies for butter to melt into. They are too thin to be split before toasting, and far too delicate in texture. I saw a similar recipe in one of Bette Hagman's books, and having tried it, have to say that they are lovely little buns, but Not crumpets.Carol Crippsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1889046160451485982.post-14316474113393644422012-08-06T03:10:17.592-04:002012-08-06T03:10:17.592-04:00Wonderful post and review Rachel and I am so impre...Wonderful post and review Rachel and I am so impressed with your GF crumpets too!

I loved the book, although I am going to have to blame you for making me spend money on the rest of the series! ;-)Deb in Hawaiihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12753889028487254096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1889046160451485982.post-9698548885989803942012-08-02T17:06:45.975-04:002012-08-02T17:06:45.975-04:00Nice job!
